The Manticore is a true monster, with the head of a human, the body of a lion, wings of a dragon and an almost insectile, barbed tail. These barbs run along the length of its back as well and are thick and jagged. The creature can launch these quills at multiple enemies with incredible velocity, even punching through lighter armor to rattle its prey before closing in to finish off its prey with bite and claw. Its favorite tactic, however, is to fly over its enemies, slowly picking them off with raking claws from the sky. Given their human characteristics, these creatures are intelligent, and can speak common, although they are wholly evil and delight in cornering and intimidating their prey before feeding. An average manticore weighs close to 1,000 lbs. and is roughly ten feet long.
