Wall of Stone
Wall of Stone
Magic Resistance: No
Legendary Eldritch Spell [Magical, Perceptive]
Prerequisites: Eldritch Rank 6
Disciplines: Conjuration
Potency: [1d12 + Eldritch Rank]
Cast Action [CT 4, REC 3]
Components: V, S, M [Small Block of Granite]
Cost: 3 Stamina and 1 Stamina Burn
Duration: 1 moment or until dismissed, dispelled or disrupted.
Upkeep: Free action, spend 2 Stamina to increase the duration by 1 moment.
Range: 100 ft
Area: Wall comprised of up to 20 - 5 foot square sections of stone, 3 inches thick, within range
Effect P: You pull forth rock from deep within the earth, creating a mortared wall of stacked stone that exists for the duration of this spell. When created, the wall binds to any adjacent solid surfaces and objects (such as walls, floors, pillars, ceilings, large rocks, etc). While the wall is traditionally created vertically, it may be laid in any orientation, such as to create a bridge or ramp. The ultimate length, height, and shape of the wall are versatile and determined by how you arrange the sections of stone. Each section of stone must be in the same plane and laid fully adjacent to a different section (For example, they may all be laid side-by-side to create a wall 5 ft tall and 100 ft long, or they could be combined into a nearly square wall 20 ft long by 25 ft tall, or the wall could be laid out in a large grid pattern, such as a zigzag, snake, or cross). The sections of the wall may not intersect any creatures when created (doing so causes the spell to fail).
The wall cannot tolerate a floating horizontal span longer than a 20ft without sufficient support (GM's Discretion). If the wall has a longer span (or is completely floating) when created, the unsupported sections crumble to the ground. Additionally, if enough Ruin is inflicted on the wall it will also collapse. Creatures beneath or adjacent to a collapsing wall are subject to the following attack:
Target: All creatures under or adjacent to the crumbling parts of the wall.
Attack: +10 vs. AC
Hit: The target suffers 6d6 Bludgeoning Damage and is Buried [SE, ST 3d10 vs STR].
Once placed, the wall cannot be moved or changed, but it may be damaged, destroyed, or dispelled. The wall has a Durability score of 30. All rubble or remains of the wall disappear at the end of the spell's duration.
Special: Initially the wall must be a flat surface without openings, but the Sculpted Wall augment may allow you to create a more complex shape or even a structure.
Master Augment, Immortal Stone
[Eldritch Rank 6]
Cost: 2 Stamina Burn
Effect: The stone wall becomes permanent. Remove the duration and upkeep from this spell. The wall may no longer be dispelled, but can still be damaged and destroyed.
Augment, Reinforced Wall
[Eldritch Rank 7, Stacking]
Stacking [Rank 7, 8, 9, etc]: This augment may be applied multiple times and is limited by your Eldritch Rank.
Effect: Increase the average thickness of the stone sections by 1 inch. This increases the Durability of the wall by 2 and damage dealt to creatures under a crumbling wall by 1d6.
Augment, Greater Wall
[Eldritch Rank 7, Stacking]
Stacking [Rank 7, 8, 9, etc]: This augment may be applied multiple times and is limited by your Eldritch Rank.
Cost: 1 Stamina
Effect: You may create 4 additional 5 foot square sections of stone.
Master Augment, Sculpted Wall
[Skill Rank 3 Engineering, Stacking]
Stacking [Skill Rank 3, 4, 5]: This augment may be applied multiple times, limited by your Engineering Skill Rank.
Cost: CT +2
Effect: You may increase the complexity of the wall created. Each time you apply this augment, choose one of the following options (each option may be picked multiple times):
- Bends: The created wall may be in an additional cartesian plane, thus allowing it to bend (at any angle) one time. Selecting this option 3 or more times can allow you to create a completely enclosed space.
- Decoration: The wall may be decorated with carvings and bas relief of an artistic nature. You can also change the nature of the stacked stones and make them more uniform (such as bricks). Each time you pick this option, increase the complexity of the decoration by 1 rank.
- Reinforced Span: Increase the horizontal distance the wall may span without collapsing by 10ft.
- Pillar: You may change one section of the wall into a 10ft long support pillar, which can be attached to the wall in any orientation.
- Holes: You may include up to three oval or rectangular holes in the wall. The holes may be made into a window or archway of various shapes if the Decoration option is also used. Each use of this option increases the number of holes by 3.
- Curves: Up to 4 sections of the wall may have their edges and corners shaped into convex curves or angles of your choice. At least one 5ft edge of the section must remain to be attached to the rest of the wall. The Decoration option allows these curves to be more robust and complex.
