"What is life without a little suffering? Without pain, we wouldn’t know what pleasure feels like. We wouldn’t know when to be happy or relaxed, how to be kind or generous. Don’t you see? Pain……..is love."
——Crucia, an eternal Pain Seeker
The Pain Seeker is a person who most likely comes from a strange and twisted set of circumstances and always from a distorted religious background. Addicted to pain to a point of ecstasy, they seek to experience it for themselves repeatedly, as well as share it with others. Perhaps they were harmed horribly in their youth by someone they loved and trusted, and now they see it as a means of expressing fondness. Maybe they were simply born as sadists, and after enough time harming others, they turned the whip on themselves to alleviate their boredom. Whatever the case, Pain Seekers are notorious for their abilities to harm others, bringing them to the brink of death and back again under their skilled hand, with little understanding of their plaything’s resistance or unhappiness.
The Pain Seeker is a three stage Talent.
Pain Seeker I
The Pain Seeker’s connection to this sensation borders on the supernatural. Feeling Pain strengthens their attacks, and they even learn how to extract the very essence of pain itself from a victim and use it to fuel their other abilities. The mere touch of a Pain Seeker can render an opponent helpless, debilitating them completely. To greater extend the reach of their gift, they create an efficient tool in the form of chains that hurt and agonize everything they touch. Lastly, casting Divine spells fills the Pain Seeker with Euphoria, not for the leavening of pain it causes, but for opening the gateway to experience more.
