Dragonhide

Dragonhide can be crafted into a variety of armors, depending on how it is treated and utilized. The nature of a dragon's scales make them pliable and lightweight, while maintaining a density and resilience stronger than steel. Despite it's minor properties, Dragonhide is not magical, the benefits associated with it being a function of the scales and skin itself. Dragonhide Armor's color cannot be changed with normal dye, the hue of scales rejects such alterations, and will remain almost as vibrant as they were when attached to their original owner.

Dragonhide Armor is perhaps one of the most prized treasures available to adventurers. In addition to its incredible properties, merely wearing such armor makes a bold statement to others, implying the level of power or wealth of the wearer. After all, how else could one gain access to armor of this type without getting the raw ingredients themselves, or spending an exorbitant amount of money. Since most owners are loathe to part with such a treasure, it is commonly assumed that the wearer acquired it the hard way. In regards to dragons, they find the practice of creating Dragonhide armor disturbing and wholly unnatural.

Properties

Dragonhide is a special material that can be used to make Leather, Studded Leather, Hide, or Scale Mail Armor. Items made from this material are always of Masterwork quality (adjustments from Masterwork quality are already included below).

Items made from Dragonhide have a faint magical aura and a Hardness of 4 (for Leather and Hide) or 8 (for Scale).

• Reduce the check penalty by 2
• Grant a +0/+2 Item bonus to AC.
• Grant Damage Reduction 10 based on the type of Dragon the armor is made from (see the table to the right).
