Duration: 1 moment or until dismissed, dispelled or disrupted.
Upkeep: Free action, 1 Resolve to increase duration by 1 moment.
Range: 100 ft.
Target: One rope (or rope-like object) of 20 ft to 50 ft in length
Effect: You animate a rope (or any similar cord of yarn, string, line, or thread) with magic that bends it to your will. The rope has a 30 ft Climb Speed which it can use to crawl across the ground or scale a surface. The rope counts as an unattended object with a Hardness equal to your Eldritch Rank (or the rope's original hardness if higher) and the spell ends immediately if the rope takes any Riven. The majority of the rope must remain within range of you at all times or the spell ends. A rope that is strong enough and fastened to an anchor may be easily climbed by you and your allies with a DC 5 Climb check. Your foes have a more difficult time climbing, requiring a DC 20 Climb check. You may use the following special actions with the rope:
Coil, Loop, or Knot Rope
Standard Action [REC 1]
Effect: The rope coils, loops, spreads out, knots, unknots, unties, or ties itself around an appropriate section of terrain.
Move Rope
Standard Action [REC 1]
Effect: The rope uses its 30 ft Climb Speed to slither across the ground or scale a surface.
Master Augment, Wrestling Rope
[Eldritch Rank 4]
Effect: The rope becomes a restricting weapon that can grapple foes at your command. The rope uses your [Arcana + 2] as its Grapple bonus. While most attacks on the rope still automatically hit, it may now defend using its Grapple bonus as if it were a creature. You may use the following additional actions to command the rope:
Grabbing Rope
Standard Action [REC 6]
Cost: 1 Resolve
Effect: The rope wraps around your opponent, grabbing them. The rope makes an attack:
Range: Melee 5ft
Target: One Creature
Attack: Arcana vs. Touch
Hit: Make a secondary attack:
Melee Attack: Arcana +2 (+6 if the target is grabbing the rope) vs. Grapple
Hit: The target is Grabbed.
Special: If the target is grabbing the rope, the primary attack automatically hits. While the rope has an opponent grabbed, it always tries to prevent their actions.
Escaping Rope [Grapple, Pin]
Standard Action [REC 6]
Effect: The rope attempts to break free from an opponent that has it grabbed. Make a single Grapple check and compare it to all opponents that have it Grabbed (suffer a -4 penalty if it is pinned). If the rope succeeds against an opponent, that opponent is no longer grabbing the rope. If the rope succeeds against all opponents, the rope is no longer grabbed by any of them and may choose to Shift 5 ft. If the rope is also grabbing an opponent, and chooses to Shift, the opponent is automatically released from the rope's grab.
Special: The rope uses your Arcana +2 as its Grapple bonus.
Master Augment, Lethal Rope
[Eldritch Rank 5, Stacking]
Stacking [Rank 5, 7, 9, etc]: This augment may be applied multiple times and is limited by your Eldritch Rank.
Requirement: You must use the Wrestling Rope augment.
Cost: 1 Resolve
Effect: The rope has the strength to squeeze and twist around its opponent, potentially damaging them. You may use the following action:
Damage Opponent
Standard Action [REC 6]
Cost: 1 Resolve
Target: One creature Grabbed by the rope.
Effect: The rope twists and digs into its opponent's flesh. The rope makes an attack:
Attack: Arcana + 2 vs. Grapple
Hit: 3d6 + Eldritch Might Bludgeoning damage.
Special: Each time you apply this augment beyond the first, increase the damage dealt by 1d6.
Master Augment, Binding Rope
[Eldritch Rank 6]
Requirement: You must use the Wrestling Rope augment.
Cost: 1 Resolve
Effect: The rope may now tightly bind your opponents, pinning them. You may use the following action:
Pin Opponent
Standard Action [REC 6]
Cost: 2 Resolve
Target: One creature Grabbed by the rope.
Effect: The rope tries to tightly bind the target, preventing movement. The rope makes an attack:
Attack: Arcana + 2 vs. Grapple
Hit: The target is Pinned.
Master Augment, Strangulation
[Eldritch Rank 7]
Cost: 2 Resolve
Effect: While the rope has an opponent grabbed, it tightens around their throat (or the respective body part that allows for breathing) preventing the opponent from taking in air. The opponent is Suffocating until it is released from the grab.
