The Destrachan is extremely intelligent, and even understands common but is unable to speak. Its reptilian appearance, coupled with its seeming lack of sensory organs, often leads other creatures to underestimate it. The Destrachan’s inherent mastery of harmonics makes it a lethal predator, capable of doing massive amounts of damage with its sonic blasts, even controlling the pitch so it can target specific creatures or structures. It uses these abilities to tunnel underground and subdue prey from below, dragging back victims to torture or imprison.

The Destrachan focuses an intense harmonic, deeply resonating beam. On a hit, the target is Deafened and Stupefied [SE, ST 5d10 vs CON]. A target who is Deaf suffers damage from this attack but is not subject to the Stupefied condition. A target that protects its ears by plugging them with wax, cotton, or via a similar method reduces the difficulty of the Saving Throw by 2d10 [STB 2d10].
