The Ochre Jelly is a yellow, amorphous ooze that melts flesh with its acid. The material that makes up their body is thick and sticky, despite being extraordinary acidic, allowing them to climb upon walls and ceilings with ease, then drop down upon their prey. Like many other oozes, they can also split when struck with bladed weapons, becoming an even bigger problem in some respects. They can consume enough to grow about 15 feet in diameter, and weigh up to 5,000 lbs., depending on what they have consumed. Like most oozes, they tend to live in caves and dungeons, areas of cold damp stone and bacteria where they can thrive.

When a Ochre Jelly is hit with Slashing or Piercing damage, it suffers no damage but instead splits into two equal jellies of one size category smaller. Each new jelly has half the remaining hitpoints of the piece it came from and can act autonomously. Each time it splits, it suffers a cumulative -4 penalty to Grapple (because of the reduction in size). This splitting can continue until a jelly of small size, in which case it no longer splits and dies if it is reduced to 0 hitpoints. (Advanced)
