Bulette
Description
Also known as the “Tunnel Shark” this strange quadruped has a thick carapace made up of shifting steel-like plates that simultaneously deflect blows and protect it from the earth. The Bulette uses its powerful, thick claws and smooth, pointed, and plated head to cut through the earth much like a shark would swim through water, then burst underneath prey it detects with its tremorsense. As it is resilient enough to tunnel through rock, many adventurers have a hard time defending themselves against such a mighty predator. The sheer size of the beast, at about 15 feet in length and 10,000 lbs. of organic metal and muscled flesh, has caused the rare survivors of a Bulette attack to liken the experience to “attacking a castle wall with a shortspear”. Fortunately, while this creature is an aggressive, voracious eating machine, it is a solitary creature. It is most commonly found alone within deep caverns that most humanoids would prefer not to live in the first place.
