Bebilith

Bebilith
Level 15 (+7)
"Yeah it’s true, we went to hell once. Thank the gods it was a short stay, because there were creatures there that I only imagined as a child. The kinds that you grew up and learned couldn’t possibly exist. Yet somehow, there they were, looking to break through into my world."
——Toransen of the 8 Swords, Retired Hero
The stuff of nightmares, it is fortunate that this planes-warping, towering, demonic arachnid prefers to dwell in the lower hells where it can hunt and feast on other demons. It captures hellspawn or any creature unfortunate enough to get caught within its web, which is funnel-shaped and ends in a pocket dimension which the Bebilith will disguise as a normal part of the terrain. Once a creature sets foot on the web and becomes stuck, the Bebilith reveals itself, violently pulling the creature out and dropping it into the pocket dimension where it can feed in privacy. These monstrosities have serrated, arachnid bodies the size of a horse, with 8 horrifying jagged claws and giant bladed incisors with which they dissect their food. They weigh up to 2 tons, a menacing sight that stalks slowly across the environs of hell, looking for the best place to entrap its victims.

Qualities
  • Funnel Trap: [DC 30 to detect] The Bebilith constructs an elaborate funnel-shaped web which it then disguises with debris. At the narrow opening of the funnel, the Bebilith weaves a extra-dimensional portal into a pocket dimension, through which it will trap its prey. Once constructed, the Bebilith lies in hiding, waiting for a creature to become trapped within the web. A creature who mistakenly steps on the web is Confined [SE, ST 4d10 vs STR]. The Bebilith will then attempt to grab the prey and carry it off, dropping it into the portal for later feeding. Alternatively, the Bebilith may weave a portal to another plane, utilizing it as an escape route or as a means of transport for allies.
  • Telepathy: The Bebilith can communicate Telepathically with creatures within 100 ft.
  • Improved Grab: Bebilith does not Provoke an opportunity attack from attempting a Grab. Additionally, when the Bebilith has a target Grabbed (of medium size or smaller) it is not limited to powers with the Grapple keyword.
  • Chitinous Hide: Damage Reduction (10) to Weapon Damage (overcome by good aligned or blessed). (inc)
