Formed of the essence of dreams, it is hard to say whether this elemental was imagined into existence, birthed by magic, or came into being much like the other primal elementals have. Whatever the case, a Dream Elemental is a dangerous and difficult adversary. On the Material Plane, it appears as a faint wisp of smoke but has no substantial form. Within the realm of Dreams, however, it manifests as a swirling, confusing mass of beautiful dreams and horrible nightmares. It is unable to physically harm creatures on the material plane, so it seeks to draw them into the Dream Realm with psychic insinuations that compel its targets to sleep. Once under its spell, it can assault them within the confines of their imagination, dealing immense psychic damage to them which manifests in the real world, while also being as difficult to kill as any nightmare. Attacks might strangely fall short or simply have no effect while the victim is literally picked apart by its worst nightmare. While large in stature, they have no weight to their physical form and are immune to non-magical weapons and effects.
