The Lich of the Grand Arcane has existed for centuries upon centuries, long ago having given their life over to the embrace of death in exchange for knowledge and power. Such a being has mastered the Eldritch Arts in a way few others can, patience and time rewarding them for their sacrifice. This caster can launch spells at enemies almost as an afterthought, having learned how to wield magic like a humanoid would point a finger. The body has deteriorated to an almost skeletal form now, very little flesh remaining, so the Grand Arcane Lich dresses in excessive finery to cover up its corpse shell. Despite its apparent frailty, the body of the Lich is reinforced with powerful necromancy, the connection growing ever stronger with the passing of years. By this time in the Lich’s “life” it is less interested in interacting with other creatures and has dedicated itself even more obsessively to the pursuit of its craft. Those wishing to challenge such a creature will find themselves disposed of often long before they reach its inner sanctum, as the Grand Arcane Lich does so hate to be disturbed. Should any actually reach this powerful monster, it will often engage in conversation meant to glean information about how they managed to find it, as it will have to track down those responsible later. It also does this simply to engage in the art of conversation, not wanting to dull its skills after so many years in isolation. Shortly after, it will dismantle the intruders in the most efficient way possible, having used this time to discreetly detect and analyze their weaknesses.

  • Phylactery: A Lich's lifeforce is contained within its Phylactery. When the Lich is killed, if its Phylactery is not destroyed, it rises again in 1d4+1 days.
  • Legendary Creature: A Legendary Creature gains a +1 racial bonus to Morale and a +5 racial bonus to all Saving Throws. Also, the Legendary Creature does not lose the ability to use its "Automatic Actions" unless it is killed or rendered Unconscious.
