Summoned Creatures
Summoned creatures serve as allies on the battlefield, fighting on your behalf. Like any ally, they may be targeted by powers and abilities and are subject to attacks. They have their own attacks and defenses, though they often get a bonus to these statistics equal to your Level Modifier. Though the creatures will follow your mental or verbal commands, they cannot communicate back to you in any way (therefore they cannot be used to scout and report back on a location).
A Summoned Creature takes its first turn in in the segment it is summoned and continues to takes turns in the same segment of each round until the power ends. Each turn it gains 3 Action Points (AP) it can use to make the following actions:
- 1 AP: Move up to its speed, use the Recovery Action, or a similarly quick action (such as drawing a weapon, using a consumable item, etc)
- 2 AP: Make a Basic Attack.
- 3 AP: Use a Special Attack or Move up to Twice its speed.
When the summoned creature suffers damage equal to its total hitpoints, it vanishes and this power immediately ends. Once summoned, the creature is free to move beyond the range of the power. Summoned creatures do not suffer injuries from hitpoint loss, but if a power or effect would subject them to an injury it makes a Resilience check as normal. If the creature fails that check, they are immediately unsummoned and the powers ends.
A summoned creature is considered a Simple Monster for the purposes of powers and Status Effects. They cannot be summoned into an area of Antimagic or a location that has been Anchored.
